The Structure and tasks of the Wielkopolska Voivodship Office in Poznań

The Wielkopolska Voivod carries out tasks with the assistance of the I voivod and directors of the integrated services, voivodship inspection and guard services, the voivodship office general director and division directors.

The Wielkopolska Voivodship Office in Poznań is an assistance body to the Wielkopolska Voivod ensuring the execution of his tasks. It functions based on legislative regulations as well as a Charter (approved by the Prime Minister) and By-Laws (approved by the Wielkopolska Voivod, which are available on: www.poznan.uw.gov.pl ).  

The organization structure of the Wielkopolska Voivodship Office in Poznań has changed many times. This was related to the shaping of the country’s political system as well as its administrative reform. For example, change in boundaries of the voivodship and the voivod’s bounds of authority, on January 1, 1999 caused a change in replacing five voivodship offices (in Kalisz, Konin, Leszno, Piła and Poznań) with the Wielkopolska Voivodship Office in Poznań.

Internally, the Wielkopolska Voivodship Office in Poznań is divided into departments and independent divisions. Departments divide into divisions and work stations. Tasks executed by the Office pertain, among others, to the following areas: public finances, social policy, regional development, citizenship issues, structural funds, environment and agriculture.

In order to ensure the residents of the Wielkopolska Voivodship easier access to the Office there are representative branches working in the field: in Leszno, Konin, Kalisz and Piła.

The Director General of the Office with the assistance of the department directors and field office managers ensure efficient operation and work organization of this Voivodship Office.
